Nest Abandoned

It's disappointing that the honeyeaters haven't returned to the nest in over 2 days.

Anyhow, here's some pics of a successful nesting which also occurred in our patio in 2000.

The nest was built in the palm on the right.
Below, the nest being built.

They grow quickly.

No Eggs in Nest

The mother bird has been sitting on the nest continuously the past couple of days.

This morning, the nest was vacant and seemed to be hanging at a precarious angle.
I sneaked a look inside; there were no eggs.

The picture below shows our patio area. Note the rubber tree plant in the back.I noticed a lot of bird activity on that plant a couple of days ago.The honeyeaters are building a nest! The one on the left stands guard while the one in the upper top right of the photo (partially hidden) builds the nest.The nest so far:
